Long, Levi, was born in Tolland county, Conn., and came to Rutland, Vt., where he settled on a farm, living
there until his death at the age of eighty seven. Three of his brothers served in the War of the Revolution. By
his wife, Abigail, he had eight children, viz.: Rufus, tevi, Joseph, Jared, Harvey, Lyman, Clark, and Pamela. Jared
Long was born in Rutland, Vt., and after his marriage moved to Highgate, Vt., where he lived fourteen years, and
finally removed to Rutland, where he died ih 1880, aged eighty eight. He was a farmer, and served in the War of
1812. He married, December 25, 1814, Martha Barr, of Highgate, Vt., daughter of Conrad and Elizabeth (Weaver) Barr,
and his children are Martha P., Julia A. Alfrea J., Benjamin F., Clark L., Mary E., and Charles C. The latter was
born in Rutland, October 8, 1815, and came to Highgate at the age of eleven, with his father. On December 11, 1844,
he married Sarah A., daughter of Stephen and Betsey (Boland) Fenn, of Rutland. He is now a resident farmer of Swanton,
and a dealer in lumber and coal. He lived in Highgate for forty three years and has lived in Swanton about twenty
six.
