Gleason, Francis A., Woodford, (Bennington p. o.), was born in Woodford, September 7, 1843, and is engaged in
the manufacture of lumber, chair stock, bed springs, frames, boxes and cases. He has steam and water power, and
capacity for manufacturing 2,000,000 feet of lumber per year. He is also engaged in the grocer business, and farming,
owning a farm of one hunrded and twenty acres. He has served his township as selectman and lister. His parents
were Stephen and Betsey (Corbett) Gleason, who came from Massachusetts to Woodford in 1827. Mr. Gleason died in
1872, but his wife is now living at the advanced age of eighty seven years. Francis A. Gleason has been married
twice. His first wife was Alice Hager, to whom he was married January 1, 1869. They had two children, Claire E.,
and Albert E. Alice was a daughter of Joshua W. Hager, formerly of Poughkeepsie, N. Y. Mr. Gleason married his
second wife, Jennie M. Harris, August 11, 1883. They have had two children: Florence and Mildred. Jennie M. was
a daughter of L. P. Harris, of Wilmington, Vt.
