Entered railway service 1876 as apprentice motive power and machinery department Union Pacific Ry at Omaha, Neb., since which he has been consecutively Feb. 25, 1880 to Jan. 7, 1885, clerk freight station at Council Bluffs, Ia.; Jan. 8, 1885 to April 30, 1897, clerk freight auditor's office at Omaha, Neb.; May 1, 1897 to Oct. 31, 1904, chief clerk same office; Nov. 1, 1904 to date, freight auditor, entire service with the Union Pacific Ry and its successor, the Union Pacific Rd.
