REUBEN E. HENDERSON. The father of Reuben F. Henderson, of New Kensington, was William E. Henderson, who spent
his life in Westmoreland county. He married Susan, daughter of Solomon Fink, of Armstrong county, and their children
were: Reuben F., mentioned hereafter; Sherman, a miner at Hillville, Pennsylvania; John. Mack, Harry, Rose, widow
of Horace Curtis; Hattie, Katie, Annie and Emma. All the sons, with the exception of Sherman, are residents of
New Kensington and all the daughters are at home.
Reuben E. Henderson, son of William E. and Susan (Fink) Henderson, was born January 4, 1875, at South Bend, and
received his education in the common schools of his native county. At the age of eighteen he began life for himself
by working in a mill, and in 1893 went to New Kensington, where he obtained a position in the Pittsburg tin plate
mill and where he has remained ever since. In March, 1901, he was elected fourth burgess of New Kensington borough
for a term of three years. He belongs to Lodge No. 644., P. O. S. of A., and has passed all the chairs in Lodge
No. 1048, I. O. O. F., both of New Kensington. His political principles are those of the Republican party, and
he is a member of the Lutheran church. Mr. Henderson married Inez, daughter of James and Margaret Billetter, and
they have three children: Howard F., Paul S. and Elmer R.
