CHESTER L. STONE, farmer, P. 0. Harrison Valley, was born August 19, 1813, in Harrison township, Potter Co., Penn., on the farm he now occupies, a son of Thaddeus and Diana (Gill) Stone. He was reared in his native township, and has always resided on the old homestead. In September, 1864, he enlisted in Company I, One Hundred and Eighty ninth New York Volunteers, and after nine months' service was honorably discharged. In 1875 he married Chrischanna, daughter of William B. and Cynthia S. (Johnson) Fox, who settled in Harrison township in 1853. The issue of this union was one son, George W. Mr. Stone is a representative farmer and citizen, is a member of the G. A. R., and in politics is a Republican.
