WILLIAM B. FOX, farmer, P. 0. Harrison Valley, was born in Chiming, Chemung Co., N. Y., May 16, 1819, a son of Silas and Abigail (Brooks) Fox, who settled in Harrison township in 1856, and whose children were Aurelia (Mrs. Robinson). William B., Jesse. Fidelia (Mrs. Jones Little) and Cecelia (Mrs. Byron S. Potter) Mr. Fox settled in Harrison township in 1853, and has cleared and improved most of the farm he occupies. He was in the Civil war, enlisting in Company G, Fifty third Pennsylvania Volunteers, February 29, 1864. He was wounded at Spottsylvania, and was honorably discharged from the service May 26, 1865, at Philadelphia. He married, October 11, 1843, Cynthia S., daughter of Thomas and Tamma (Mead) Johnson, of Chemung, N. Y., and they have two children living: Chrischann a (Mrs. C. L. Stone) and George M. Mr. Fox is a representative farmer and citizen; is a Republican in politics, and has held several local offices of the township.
