WILLIAM THASE, farmer, P. O. Starr, was born in Prussia, September 25, 1820, and came to America in 1847, locating
in Allegheny City, Penn. He married, in 1849, Miss Minnie Zagelhurst, a native of Hanover, Germany, by whom he
had one child, Sophia, wife of Henry W. Ledebur, of Hickory township. He was again married, in 1851, to Miss Dora
Diekrager, who was born in Germany, May 21, 1820. January 1, 1806, he settled upon his present farm, in Green township,
and he has cleared and improved the same. Mr. Thase is a stanch Republican, and cast his first vote for Fremont.
He is an elder in the Lutheran Church.
