Earl Alwine, garage owner, is an enterprising young business man of Johnstown. He was born in this city, Jan.
1, 1892, and is the son of Jerry and Minnie (Berkley) Alwine.
Jerry Alwine, who is successfully engaged in farming and fruit raising on Somerset Pike, just outside of Johnstown,
is a native of Cambria County. For many years he owned and operated the Alwine Dairy in Johnstown.
Earl Alwine received his education in Johnstown and was associated in business with his father for several years.
In 1919 he established his present business at 1340 Franklin Street. He has a well equipped garage and carries
a complete line of automobile accessories. He also operates a gasoline filling station.
In January, 1917, Mr. Alwine was united in marriage with Miss Lena Stonebreaker, the daughter of William and Christina
Stonebreaker, of Clearfield County, Pa. Mr. and Mrs. Alwine have three children, Paul, Helen and William.
Mr. Alwine is a Republican and a member of the Church of the Brethren. He has a wide acquaintance throughout the
community in which he has spent his entire life.
