Biography of W. S. Cooper
North Central Ohio Biographies

W. S. Cooper is prominent throughout Knox County as vice president of The Danville Bank. He was born in Coshocton County, Ohio, Nov. 6, 1878, the son of F. M. and Susannah (Matheny) Cooper. The former lives retired at West Lafayette, Ohio, and the latter is deceased. Four children were born to Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Cooper: W. S., the subject of this sketch; Nellie, married William Spurgeon, lives at Waihonding, Ohio; Carrol, was married to Julia Geog, of Spring Mountain, Ohio, in 1926; and Lester, was married to Stella Singer, of Waihonding, Ohio, in 1921.

W. S. Cooper attended the public schools and graduated from High School of Coshocton, Ohio, in 1896, and is a graduate of a normal school at Roscoe, Ohio. He taught school for a period of 14 years, and since 1917 has been identified with the Danville Bank, of which he is now vice president.

Mr. Cooper was married April 1, 1905, to Miss Sarah E. Rice, the daughter of John and Mary Rice, of Knox County. They reside at Danville, Ohio.
