I. W. BEACH, undertaker, and manufacturer and dealer in furniture, Plain City, was born in Franklin County,
Ohio, July 21, 1850. He is a son of Uri and Elenore (Downing) Beach, the former a native of this county and the
latter of Pennsylvania, and both of English descent. Our subject received his education in the common schools,
at Ohio Wesleyan University at Delaware, and at a commercial college in Pittsburgh, Penn. He worked at farming
until thirty one years of age when he came to Plain City and embarked in his present enterprise, with Mr. Barlow,
under the firm name of Barlow & Beach. He was married, in 1874, to Ruth Alma Slyh, a daughter of Matthias Slyh.
They have one child, Lulu Ann, born January 6, 1875. Mr. and Mrs. Beach are Baptists, and he is a Republican. He
served one term as Township Assessor.
