Biography of Frank M. Gulick

Frank M. Gulick, a resident of Toledo since 1914 and now engaged in the real estate business with the firm of The Smith Allemeier Gulick Company, has also became quite active in local political circles as a supporter of republican principles. Mr. Gulick is a native of the neighboring state of Indiana, his birth having occurred in Granger, Saint Joseph county, Indiana, on the 2d of May, 1880, his parents being Charles M. and Frances Elizabeth Gulick. He was graduated from the public schools and further pursued his studies in the Mishawaka, Indiana. high school. His youthful experiences were those of the farm bred b9y who divides his time between the acquirement of an education,- the pleasures of the playground and the duties assigned in connection with the cultivation of the fields. He continued to assist upon the farm until he had attained his majority and then removed to Petoskey, Michigan, where he secured .a clerkship with the Hamill Grocery Company. He occupied that position for some time and then resigned to enter the employ of the American Express Company, with which he served in various capacities until 1916, when he resigned to enter the real estate field. He had become a resident of Toledo in 1914 and after two years turned his attention to the real estate business and is now ass 3ciated with The Smith Allerneier Gulick Company. He is rapidly. becoming a well known figure in realty circles here and has made steady and substantial progress in the business.

On the 1st of October, 1902, Mr. Gulick was married to Miss Maude M. Dickes and their children are: Charles Leland, Merle Amerson, Frances Elizabeth. Florence Margaret and Virginia Maud. Mr. Gulick is a member of the Northern Light Masonic Lodge, also Viking Lodge, I. O. O. F., and the Knights of Malta. He was formerly the secretary of the South Toledo Commerce Club and he is a member of the Toledo Auto Club. In politics he is a stanch republican and: for two years served as chairman of the eleventh, twelfth and thirteenth wards, taking active and helpful part in shaping the course of the party in this district and at all times manifesting a keen interest in the public welfare.
