Fred A. Armstrong, one of the well known realtors of Toledo, identified with the business interests of this
city since 1903, was born in Toronto, Ontario, March 16, 1875, a son of Dr. Thomas Armstrong. He completed his
education, after attending the public schools of his native city, as a student in the Upper Canada College and
in Toronto University and was a young man of twenty eight years when he crossed the border into the United States,
going to Cleveland in 1903, where he became associated with the Kingsley Paper Company. In 1907 he was sent by
that firm to represent its interests jn Toledo and after residing here for a number of years he became identified
with the Close Realty Company, with which he was associated until 1920. In that year he formed a partnership with
Albert W. Allemeier and Joseph Kromenacker, under the style of Fred A. Armstrong & Company and already the
firm has made for itself a most enviable position in realty circles in this city. Mr. Armstrong's previous experience
well qualified him to engage in the business in this way, for he has intimate knowledge of property value and is.
thoroughly familiar with the realty upon the market. He has negotiated many important transfers and the clientage
of the firm is extensive.
In 1903 Mr. Armstrong was united in marriage to Miss Rachel Fuller, and they have one child, Gordon T. L., born
in Cleveland, Ohio, February 13, 1907. Mr. Armstrong belongs to the Chamber of Commerce, to the Toledo Yacht Club
and to the Toledo Auto Club, being well known in these connections, and he directs his activities in those fields
'where the best interests of the public are conserved and where further progress along the lines of municipal and
civic upbuilding is achieved.
