Albert W. Allemeier, who has been connected with various lines of business in Toledo, making steady and consistent progress in each, is now the president of the Smith Allemeier Gulick Company, realtors. He was born in Fort Jennings, Putnam county, Ohio, March 20, 1890, his parents being Henry and Mary Allemeier. His education was acquired in the Segur Avenue and Washington schools of Toledo and later he attended the Toledo University. He was first connected with the Stolberg & Parks furniture store and it was while thus employed that he formulated a plan of establishing a furniture plant on his own account. His ideas reached their fulfillment in the organization of the firm of Allemeier & Son and though the business was begun on a small scale it has been steadily increased and has developed into the Woodcraft Company, of which. Mr. Allemeier is the, president .of the board of directors. He was also associated with the Toledo post office in the railway mail service and in the spring of 1918 he extended his efforts into still another field, by becoming identified with the E. H. close Realty Company. In this connection he gained comprehensive knowledge of real estate activities and in the spring of 1920 he formed a partnership with Fred A. Armstrong and Joeseph Kromenacker, the former also one of the representatives of the E. H. Close Realty Company, under the style of Fred A. Armstrong & Company. Of this company he Was the vice president until September, 1922, when the Smith Allemeier Gulick Company was organized. Still another field of activity claims his attention and energies and profits by his sound judgment and business enterprise, for he is 'the secretary and treasurer of the Fort Miami Company.

In the year 1917 Mr. Allemeier was married to Miss Iona Erswell and they have become parents of one son, Roy Forest Allemeier. Mr. Allemeier gives his political allegiance to the republican party and is a stalwart champion of its principles. His interests and activities outside of business also cover a wide scope, for he belongs to Sanford L. Collins Lodge, F. &. A. M., and Toledo Chapter, R. A. M., also to 0-Ton-Ta-La Grotto. He is likewise a member of the Toledo Yacht Club and of the Toledo Chamber of Commerce. He is a representative young business man of the city, alert, energetic and actuated by a laudable ambition and at the same time he recognizes his duties and obligations in connection with the general welfare and is altogether a public spirited citizen.
