Carl R. Shive is a reliable young business man of Leetonia, where he is proprietor of the Leetonia General Service
Company. He was born near Leetonia, March 15, 1892, and is the son of H. C. and Lydia (Sweitzer) Shive. Mr. and
Mrs. Shive are residents of Leetonia, where he is employed as a Western Union operator.
Alter completing his schooling, C. R. Shive was employed by the U. S. Nold, the Buckeye Engine Company and the
E. W. Bliss Company, having remained with the latter concern for 12 years. He was connected with the Briar Hill
Steel Company as foreman for one year, served in the same capacity for the McKeefrey hon Company for two years.
He has since been interested in the garage business and in May, 1925, established his present business in partnership
with J. M. Anglemyer. They are authorized Ford dealers and also handle the Chevrolet and Star cars. They operate
a high class garage, and do expert repair work.
In politics Mr. Shive is an independent voter. He holds membership in the Lutheran Church and is a member of the
Masonic Lodge. He has a wide acquaintance throughout Columbiana County and is well liked.
