R. E. Kridler, a substantial and well known citizen of Homeworth, is a native of Columbiana County. He was born
at Leetonia, Nov. 3, 1889, and is the son of Charles and Lulu (Hendricks) Kridler.
Charles Kridler, deceased, was a native of Fairview Township, Columbiana County. He engaged in general farming
during his life and is now deceased. His wife, who was born at Leetonia, lives at Columbus, Ohio. Two children
were born to Mr. and Mrs. Kridler: Hazel, married Charles Kelley, lives at Columbus, Ohio; and R. E., the subject
of this sketch.
R. E. Kridler spent his boyhood at Leetonia and attended the public schools. He was also a student in the public
schools of Columbiana and Canfield, Ohio. He was 12 years old when his father died and shortly afterward he was
forced to leave school in order to support himself. He learned the chair making trade at Columbus, Ohio, and later
worked in the potteries of Sebring, Ohio. He then lived at Alliance, Ohio, for some time, after which he removed
to Homeworth, where he now conducts a billiard parlor.
On Aug. 1, 1913, Mr. Kridler was married to Miss Hazel Hahn, the daughter of Daniel and Cora Hahn, residents of
West Township, Columbiana County, and members of a prominent pioneer family of this section. Mr. and Mrs. Kridler
have two sons: Norman Lee, born in 1914; and Chester LeRoy, born in 1918.
Mr. and Mrs. Kridler are members of the Christian Church and are highly esteemed in the community.
