James Kapotas is a successful and enterprising young business man of East LiverpooL He is a native of Carpathos,
Greece, born March 5, 1893, and the son of George and Fotenee Kapotas.
George Kapotas, deceased, was the son of Manuel Kapotas, a large vessel owner of Greece. He worked on his father's
boats during his life time and died in 1918. His wife died two years later. To Mr. and Mrs. Kapotas were born four
children: Demanto, married M. Stamatake, lives in Greece; James, the subject of this sketch; Gustave, lives in
Alliance, Ohio; and Emanuel, deceased.
After attending the schools of his native land, James Kapotas came to the United States in November, 1912, and
settled at Bellaire, Ohio. Later, he lived at Wheeling, W. Va., and in 1916 came to East Liverpool, where he engaged
in the restaurant business. Since 1918 he has conducted his present business, known as the Unique Billiard Parlors.
A cleaning business is also operated in connection.
Mr. Kapotas is a Republican and holds membership in the Greek Orthodox Church. He is favorably known in the community
in which he lives.
