Dr. Seward Harris is a prominent young physician of Lisbon He was born in Lodi, Seneca County, New York, Oct
27, 1883, and is the son of Abraham W. and Minnie B. (Brooks) Harris.
Abraham W. Harris was born in New York state and followed farming and stock raising during his active life. His
wife is also a native of that state. They were the parents of three children, as follows: Herbert and John B.,
both living in New York state; and Seward, the subject of this sketch.
Seward Harris was graduated from the public schools of Cortland, N. Y., after which he followed teaching for four
years. He then entered the University of Michigan from which he received his degree as Doctor of Medicine in 1912.
The following year he spent at Saint Elizabeth Hospital, Dayton, Ohio. He began the practice of his profession
in Lisbon on July 1, 1913, and is located at 10 North Park Avenue.
On Sept. 6, 1911, Doctor Harris was united in marriage with Miss Jane Bodine, of Ovid, N. Y., the daughter of Joseph
and Mariah (Jones) Bodine. Before her marriage Mrs. Harris was a teacher for six years. She died Nov. 30, 1922,
and is buried in Lisbon.
Mr. and Mrs. Abraham W Harris are now living retired in Lisbon. Doctor Harris is a Republican, a member of the
Presbyterian Church, and belongs to the Odd Fellows of Lisbon, the Masonic Lodge, Blue Lodge of Salem, and the
Shrine at Cleveland. He is a member of the Columbiana County Society and the Phi Chi Fraternity. Doctor Harris
is an excellent citizen and merits the high esteem in which he is held by the community.
