Wick Fry is a well known business man and leading citizen of Columbiana. He was born in Carroll County, Ohio,
June 30, 1887, and is the son of Noah B. and Anna E. (Speaker) Fry.
Noah B. Fry was born in Carroll County, Ohio, in 1849, and his wife, also a native of Ohio, was born in 1854. He
died in 1923 and his wife in 1911. They had four children: David E., died in 1920; Wick, the subject of this sketch;
Garfield, lives at Canton, Ohio; and Lamar, deceased. Mr. Fry engaged in general farming and specialized in the
raising of sheep. He operated 200 acres of land.
Wick Fry attended the public schools of Canton, Ohio, and studied embalming at Cleveland. In 1913 he engaged in
business in Carroll County, Ohio, at Carrollton, and in 1920, removed to Columbiana, where he had purchased the
undertaking establishment of John J. Marks, pioneer funeral director of Columbiana County. Mr. Fry has since conducted
the business in a most successful manner.
In July, 1910, Mr. Frey was united in marriage with Miss Jennie Rock, of Dellroy, Ohio, the daughter of Henry L
and Martha Rock. Mr. Rock died in 1919 and his wife resides with Mr. and Mrs. Fry.
Mr. Fry is a Republican, a member of the Presbyterian Church, the Masonic Lodge, Independent Order of Odd Fellows,
Knights of Pythias and Rotary Club. He is a capable business man and an excellent citizen.
