Dr. Joseph M. Cartwright is a successful dentist of East Liverpool, where he has practiced his profession since
1899. He was born in this city, May 31, 1873, and is the grandson of Joseph and Elizabeth Cartwright.
Joseph Cartwright was born in England, as was his wife. He came to the United States at the age of 20 years and
settled in East Liverpool, where he engaged in the pottery business until his death in 1888. His wife died in 1895
and they are buried in East Liverpool. Joseph M., the subject of this sketch, was their only grandson.
Joseph M. Cartwright was reared in East Liverpool and after completing his schooling here attended Bethany College,
West Virginia, and the Dental College, University of Michigan. After receiving his degree in 1899 he immediately
began the practice of his profession in East Liverpool. He is skilled in his work and has an extensive practice.
On Feb. 2, 1904, Dr. Cartwright was united in marriage with Miss Mary Adams, the daughter of Harry W. and Mary
(Timmons) Adams, natives of Ohio and both now deceased. Doctor and Mrs. Cartwright have a son, Joseph B., born
in June, 1914.
Doctor Cartwright is a Republican, a member of the Presbyterian Church, the Masonic Lodge and the Rotary Club.
