BRISBIN C. BLACKBURN, Representative from Coshocton county, was born March 30, 1828 in Jefferson county, Ohio.
He attended the common schools until fourteen years of age, after which he taught during the winter season, and
attended college during the summer months, until eighteen years old, when he commenced the study of medicine, still
teaching during the winter. In 1850 he moved to Coshocton county and commenced the practice of medicine. After
about four years he removed to Tuscarawas county, where he engaged in his profession for about twelve years, with
a lucrative practice.
In 1857 be was elected to represent his county in the Ohio House of Representatives. He was offered the renomination,
but did not accept it, because his profession demanded his attention. In 1864 be returned to Coshocton county,
and engaged in farming near Chili. In 1866 he moved into Jackson township, of the same county, where he has ever
since resided.
