Maloney, John M. (son of James and Margaret), was born in Cavendish, Vt., in 1844. When fourteen years old he
entered the pension office of the department of the interior at Washington, D. C., where he remained ten years.
In 1869 he graduated from the medical department of the University of Georgetown. In 1870 he settled in Starkey,
where he has since practiced. Dr. Maloney was coroner of Yates County three years, and has been health officer
of the town for ten years. He is now treasurer of the Yates County Medical Society. He has been several times elected
delegate to the State Society. In 1869 he was united in marriage with Josephine Huson, daughter of W. H. Huson,
and they have six children.
