Hurley, Daniel B., was born in Reading, Schuyler County, N. Y., March 14, 1842. August 10, 1862, he enlisted
in Company A, One Hundred and Forty first New York Infantry, and was honorably discharged as corporal June 24,
1865, at the close of the war. He was with General Sherman from Chattanooga to Savannah, and participated in over
twenty engagements. He resides in a pleasant home in the village of Dresden, where he has lived for the past twenty
five years. January 10, 1866, he married Hannah Petrie, of Dix, Schuyler County, and they have one daughter, Carrie.
