Earl, Edwin L., son of the late Jeptha Earl, was born in Benton, N. Y., January 10, 1838. He was reared on the
farm and is now the owner of 175 acres of excellent land. At the age of thirty-one he married Caroline Coffin,
by whom he has had five children: George Jeptha, Henry Clay, Charles, Eliza and Edwin L., jr. Mr. Earl is a Democrat
in politics, but takes no active part in town or county affairs. He has no strong religious preferences, but inclines
towards Universalism.
