Wolfe, John, was born in Mecklenbnrg Schwerin, Germany, January 29, 1830, and came to this country in 1855.
He was a cabinet maker by trade, and in December, 1893, established the grocery business now carried on by him,
having one of the best selected stores in town, and keeping a line of cigars, tobacco, and imported goods. At the
age of twenty four Mr. Wolfe married Caroline Winters, daughter of Jacob Winters, and they have eight children,
six sons and two daughters. Our subject is one of the active business men in the town, thoroughly up in all the
events of the day, and recognized as a man of strict integrity in all his dealings.
