Stanford, Harvey E., was born in Oneida county, this State, in October, 1843. He is a son of Richard and Sally
(Thorne) Stanford, came with his parents to this town in 1858, was reared on a farm and educated in the common
schools. Early in life he learned the trade of a carpenter and has for many years followed the profession of contractor
and builder, also owns a small farm. He is a Republican in politics, has held several minor town offices and is
now serving his first term as justice of the peace. Mr. Stanford enlisted in Co. B, 8th N. Y. Cavalry in September,
1864 and served until the close of the war. He married in 1872 Ella A. Andrew, a native of this town, and daughter
of Alexander and Delia (Willard) Andrew. Mr. Stanford and wife have one daughter, Carrie L., wife of Edgar Brundage,
a native of this town.
