Phillips, John M., was born in Wolcott September 25, 1860. His parents, William W. and Hannah, were for many
years domiciled where our subject now resides. John Phillips is a young man of more than ordinary ability and highly
esteemed wherever he is known. He acquired a thorough education at Red Creek, and in early manhood engaged in his
chosen vocation, conducting the homestead farm of 100 acres. He has found time to fill various positions of trust
in his town, but is largely devoted to his family and his home. His wife was Victoria, daughter of Charles and
Elizabeth Green, and they have two sons; William Meric, born February 8, 1884, and John M., Jr., born January 9,
1893. They lost a daughter, Beth, November 7, 1891, at the age of four years.
