Klumpp, Daniel, was born in Elsatz, France, in 1835, son of Philip and Sally Klumpp. When fifteen years of age
he came alone to America, coming direct to Clyde where he learned the blacksmith trade. Five years later he moved
to Sodus, where he conducted a blacksmith shop until 1885. He then came to Lake Bluff, the popular pleasure summer
resort, and purchased a small piece of land, on which he erected a three story hotel, known as the Lakeview House,
which he now conducts and where friends and strangers are always welcomed by the genial landlord. In 1874 he married
Lena Yaeckel, born in Elsatz, France, and their children were: Mrs. Eva McMullen, of Sodus Centre; Helen, Mrs.
Lizzie Hendricks, of Sodus; Charles, E., Emma E., Mrs. Hattie Smith, of Sodus; Edward E., and Frederick. His wife
died in 1878, and in 1882 he married Millie, daughter of Barrett Olary, of Sodus.
