Budd, Gilbert, of Macedon, was born in the town of Sodus, February 5, 1818. His father, John I. Budd, was a
native of Rensselaer county, his occupation being farming. He married Elizabeth Speckerman, and they were the parents
of nine children. Gilbert Budd was the second child of this marriage. He has followed the occupation of his father
and is engaged in farming. In 1847 he married Marian M. Clark, and to them was born one child, a daughter. Mr.
Budd and family are faithful members of the M. E. Church, and liberal contributors to that as well as to other
charitable organizations, he having placed a fine bell at large cost upon the church. In polities he is a Republican.
