Biography of William Taggart

Taggart, William, was born in Ireland, August 21, 1832, and came to this county in 1849. He settled in Dryden, remaining five years, then worked for different farmers, and in 1857 he started for himself, buying a farm of thirty acres, which he traded for eighty acres in Newfield, then traded that for his present place, about eleven years ago. He served one year in the Rebellion. In 1860 he married Margaret Hodges and they have had six children, two deceased. Mr. Taggart is a member of the Grange, also of G. A. R. In politics he is a Republican.
