Academy, under Prof. S. D. Carr. Our subject is a Republican and has been inspector of elections for seven successive
years, taking an active and intelligent interest in the leading events of the day. Mr. Jones has a farm of 170
acres on which he raises large quantities of grain and hay, the old homestead adjoining being also his property,
he having bought the claims of the other heirs on the death of his father in 1887. He is a leading farmer in the
neighborhood, and is recognized as a man of sound judgment and high ability.
