Genung, Luther G., was born October 2, 1816, in the town of Dryden, educated in the district schools of the day, and remained on his father's farm till the age of twenty one. He then married Phoebe, daughter of Moses Banfield, of the town of Danby, who bore him four children, of whom one son and one daughter survive. In 1850 our subject bought the Edson Williams farm, to which he has added several adjoining farms. He now has 150 acres of some of the most productive land in the town, on which he raises the usual crops of the vicinity, making a specialty of stock raising ands dealing largely in sheep.
