Mackie, Frank G., was born in the town of Avoca, July 15, 1855, son of Robert Mackie, who was born in Glasgow,
Scotland, and came to the United States in 1820, and first settled with his father, William Mackie, in Paterson,
N. J., and in 1824 came to Avoca, Steuben county, where he has since resided on a farm of 320 acres, his principal
crops being potatoes, barley, rye, and oats. Robert married Jane Howard, and they have two children: Sophia and
Frank G. The latter was educated in the town of Avoca, and is a farmer by occupation. He married Hannah, daughter
of Joseph Eells, of Avoca. Mr. Mackie has filled the office of assessor for one term.
