Keyser, James F., was born in the town of Avoca, July 9, 1849. Frederick Keyser, his father, was a native of Montgomery county, and came to Steuben county in 1840, settling in Kanona, and afterwards moved to Avoca. He married Eveline, daughter of Benjamin Dilenbach, by whom he had three children, James F., Mrs. Eliza Wagner, and Mrs. Maggie Clark. He was one of the best known contractors and builders in Steuben county, and died in 1888 in his seventy fourth year. James F. married Nora, daughter of William Waggoner, by whom he had one child, Gertrude. Mrs. Keyser died May 16, 1892.
