Jones, J. B., was born in Addison in 1851, son of L. A. Jones, also a native of this place, where he lived for
nearly eight years, being engaged in farming and lutubering. He was also a pilot on the river in early days, also
a carpenter and joiner by trade, and held many Prominent town offices, deputy sheriff being one of them. J. B.
Jones's boyhood was spent here, and he first engaged in the market business, but for the past fourteen years has
dealt in ice, and is also chief engineer at the Erie pumping station, which position he has held since 1887. He
married Mary A., daughter of George W. Young. Mr. Jones is a member of the Maccabees, and also has a membership
in other fraternities and benevolent organizations.
