Willis, Austin, Parishville, was born in Lyme, N. H., in 1808, and at the age of twelve came with his parents
to Parishville, where he married Emily Brown, daughter of Varnum Brown of this town. Mr. and Mrs. Willis had seven
children, three of whom reached maturity. Mr. Willis was a farmer, and a Republican in politics, having been supervisor,
justice of the peace. etc. He was also captain of militia and deacon in the church many years. Mrs. Willis died
in April, 1849, and Mr. Willis married, second, Mrs. Amarilla (Ford) Christy, whose fIrst husband was Nathan Christy,
who came from Vermont to Parishville in 1825, and took up the farm now owned by Emma J. Willis, where he died.
He was a Republican and twice supervisor of his town. He was born October 1, 1797, and died February 29, 1852.
His parents were Asa and Sally Christy, early settlers of Vermont, where Mr. Christy died January 5, 1848, and
his wife July 17, 1850. Austin Willis died May 15, 1861, and his wife September 9, 1889.
