Peck, Frank M., Potsdam, was born in Sodus, Wayne county, March 31, 1847. His boyhood was spent in the town
of Madrid, and he was educated in St. Lawrence Academy, Fairfax Seminary and Middlebury College, Vt. After leaving
school Mr. Peck was for a few months night editor of the Burlington, Vt., Free Press, and then engaged in the life
insurance business in St. Lawrence county. In 1876 he was appointed Assembly Librarian at Albany, an office he
held one term, and in 1877 engaged in the fire insurance business in company with H. S. Perrigo. At the organization
of the People's Bank at Potsdam in 1889, Mr. Peek was made bookkeeper and assistant cashier, an office he still
holds. He has been village trustee two years, and is a member of Racquette River Lodge, No. 213, F. & A. M.
Mr. Peck married in 1875, Addie B. Henderson, of Prescott, Ont. They have one adopted daughter, Ettie M. Peck,
now in her fourteenth year. Mr. Peck was for fourteen years connected with the Racquette Valley and St. Regis Valley
Fair Association, and for the last four years of the time he was the secretary. He has been treasurer of the Potsdam
Building and Loan Association since its organization.
