Jones, Cyrus P., Norfolk, was born in Monkton, Vt., November 17, 1839. His father was James Jones, a native
of Vermont, born in 1799, where he was reared and educated. He married Lovica Tracy, by whom he had four sons and
four daughters. In 1837 Mr. Jones came to Stockholm and after a few years went to Norfolk and settled on the farm
now owned by Mr. Waldron. He afterwards purchased the farm now owned by H. O. Jones, and he also owned the farm
which subject now owns, the Lowery place, and the place now owned by Mrs. Richards, where his wife died in 1878.
Mr. Jones married second Clarinda Jenkins, and spent his last days in Brookdale. In politics he was a Republican,
but not an aspirant to office, He died in 1883. Cyrus 0. Jones was reared on a farm and educated in the common
schools. He learned the harnessmaker's trade and followed it for ten years in Madrid. He married Selema Thompson,
of Canton, by whom he has had two children: Kittie, who died at the age of nine months; and Alton A., at home.
Mr. Jones has a farm of eighty acres and a very pleasant home. He has been very successful and is one of the wealthiest
men in Norfolk. He is a Prohibitionist in politics. He and family attend and support the Presbyterian church of
Norfolk.
