Bristol, L. M., Ogdensburg, was born in DePeyster. July 12, 1848. He received his education at the schools there
and at the Potsdam Normal School, General Curtis being among his teachers. His earlier years were spent upon a
farm, his family having originally moved into this vicinity from Vermont and taken up land. L. M, Bristol came
to Ogdenshurg in 1887 and went into the wood business, and in 1892 took into partnership Mr. Dorgan and added coal
to the commodities handled, The firm purchased an entire block to add to their facilities for handling coal and
wood,, and have an elegant office up town at 5 Ford street. Mr. Bristol also owns a residence at No. 22 Congress
street. He married in 1875 Maniah McRorie, of Lisbon, whose father purchased the Curtis farm from the author of
this work, and they have one daughter. Mr. Bristol comes from a good old American family, and worthily sustains
the honorable reputation of his ancestors.
