REV. EDWARD M. BRADY.

REV. EDWARD M. BRADY was born in Troy, N. Y., March 1, 1860, educated in the public schools of Troy, and when fourteen years of age entered Troy Academy, which was founded about 1823. The principal of the school in 1874 was Mr. Wilson, who had charge of the institution for many years. Mr. Brady was graduated from the academy on July 1, 1877, and in the autumn of the same year entered Holy Cross College, Worcester, Mass., from which he was graduated on June 24, 1880, receiving the degree of Bachelor of Arts. September 9, 1880, he entered St. Joseph's Seminary, Troy, N. Y., where he was ordained priest December 21, 1884, by Rt. Rev. Bishop Bradley, first bishop of Manchester, N. H.

After his ordination he was sent by Bishop McNeirney to act aspastor of the Catholic church at New Lebanon, N. Y., where he remained two months; March 1, 1885, he was appointed administrator of St. James church at Cazenovia, N. Y., and on December 10, 1885, was appointed assistant pastor of St. Peter's church at Saratoga, N. Y. May 5, 1889, Mr. Brady was appointed rector of the church of the Immaculate conception at Palmer Falls and of the church of the Holy Infancy at Luzerne, N. Y., where he has been for nine years, and in that time has paid the debt on the church and made many improvements on the property. He has built a rectory adjoining the church which is entirely free from debt. The Catholic congregation also own a cemetery in Corinth, which is also free from debt, so that at the present writing, April 6, 1898, the church, rectory, and cemetery are entirely free from encumbrances.
