Shea, Jeremiah, who represented the Prudential Insurance Company in Hoosick Falls and vicinity, was the son
of an old resident here, Thomas Shea, a native of Ireland. Mr. Shea had charge of this agency from 1891, and previous
to that time was employed by the Wood Company as moulder. When a boy Mr. Shea exhibited unusual intellectual attainments
and after graduating from the public schools here he attended Troy Business College. He was a member of the R.
C. church and for twenty years was a member of the Father Matthew Temperance Society, of which organization he
officiated as president and financial secretary. In 1887 he married Alice Kearney of Hoosick, by whom he had four
children. Mr. Shea died Septembor 28, 1896.
