Feikert, John, was born in Germany in 1818, came to Syracuse in 1840, and in 1854 to Amboy, where he has since
resided with the exception of 1863-4 when he was in the army in Co. L, 15th N. Y. Vols., as musician. He is known
as one of the finest clarinet players of his time. His wife was Eva, daughter of John Homer, and they have two
daughters, Margaret (Mrs. John Morton) and Dena (Mrs. Gilbert Burr); also one son, Charles Feikert, blacksmith
at West Monroe.
