Copeland, Leonard L., was born in the city of Oswego February 22, 1842, and lived there till twelve years of
age. He then came to the farm where he now resides, but was in the grocery business three years during the war.
In 1877 he married Cornelia M. Mullen, and they have two children, John Mack and Sarah M. Mr. Copeland's father
was Leonard, a native of Saratoga county, who came to Oswego in 1832 and was a leading dry goods merchant many
years. He died in 1882. His mother was Maria (Mack). His brother, Lieutenant Amos M., was a soldier of the 1st
Reg., N. Y. Vols., in the war of the Rebellion, and was killed at Chapin's Farm.
