Brooks, S. C., was born in Orwell in 1839, and is the son of Rev. Samuel Brooks, who was born in 1802 and died
in 1894. His grandfather, Samuel, was one of the pioneers of Redfield. Mr. Brooks followed boating for fifteen
years prior to 1870, when he came to Williamstown and is a farmer. He has one son, Milford D., and two daughters.
