Baldwin, Cyrus, was born in Massachusetts December 23, 1820, son of Jonathan and Esther Baldwin. He was educated
in Massachusetts, then engaged in farming, which he has always followed. He went to Mexico in 1846, lived there
several years, and in 1867 moved to Parish where he purchased the farm of fifty acres on which he has since resided.
He married twice, first Hannah N. Church, by whom he had two children, one now living, Henry M. His second wife
was Melissa Bard, and they have had three children, two of whom are now living, J. C. Curtis and Ernest V. James
is married and lives in Mexico; Ernest is living on the homestead and has three children, Blanche, Eulalie and
Mattie.
