Simmonds, C. M., was born in Stockbridge, Mass., May 23, 1843. His father was an engineer, and moved to Utica
and thence to Medina in 1846, and the life of our subject has been, therefore, spent entirely in this place. He
has been engaged in the stave business over thirty years, was the originator and promoter of the Electric Light
Company in Medina, is the oldest fireman in the village, and was chief of the brigade. He is an enterprising and
zealous man and has always succeeded in everything he undertook He is liberal in his support of church work, and
of the Y. M. C. A. Mr. Simmonds' father was William Simmonds, a native of Roxbury, Mass., 'and has been dead seven
years. His mother, who is still living, was Caroline (Card) Simmonds.
