Rourke, M., was born in Ireland in 1846, and came to America in 1853. He enlisted in 1863 in the 22d N. Y. Cavalry
and served two years and two months, going through the Shenandoah Valley campaign with Sheridan. He was taken prisoner
at Port Royal and recaptured by the Michigan brigade. After the war he followed farming until 1886, when he embarked
in the hotel business at Knowlesville, in which he is still engaged. In 1869 he married Mary Connelly, and they
have one daughter, Anna J.
