Reisch, Joseph, was born at Althausen, Saulgan, Wurtemburg, February 27, 1847. His early life in Germany was
spent on his father's farm, but at the age of fourteen he began to learn shoemaking, and worked at that trade until
1867 when he came so this country. After a time Mr. Reisch became a barber, at which trade he worked in New York
city and in Hartford and Norwalk, Conn., for several years, coming from the latter place to Rochester in 1871.
Six months after, in 1872, he came to Albion, and started a barber shop and for the next seventeen years he was
a leading barber at the county seat. In 1889 failing eyesight compelled him to leave the shop, upon which he purchased
the Albion House, a good hotel near the depot, of which he has ever since been the proprietor. On December 20,
1870, in Hartford, Conn., he married Amelia Klett, and they have one child, Mary, born hnuary 25, 1877. Mr. Reiseb
is a popular landlord in Albion, and a man generally reputed in the county. He is a member of the Renovation Lodge,
F. and A. M. and also prominently connected with the A. O. U. W.
