Blodgett, Elisha, was born at Middleburgh, Vt., in 1787. His father, Samuel Blodgett, served in the Revolutionary
War and was twice captured by the Indians. Elisha Blodgett came from Vermont in 1810 and settled in Henrietta.
Monroe county, where he remained until 1822, when he came to the town of Murray and settled on the Ridge road east
of Sandy Creek. For many years he was industriously engaged in the stave business, buying and shipping large quantities
by canal to eastern cities. Mr. Blodgett was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Holley. He married Lois Cowles,
and to them were born three daughters and one son. Hiram Blodgett, the son, settled in Kendall and was a farmer.
The daughters were: Caroline, who married Hoses Bronson, Amanda, who married Harry Bradley, and Orpha, who married
Bernard Sawyer. Elisha Blodgett died in 1856.
