Goodfellow, William T., was born in Schoharie county, N. Y., September 14, 1829, a son of Sylvester and Caroline
(Ames) Goodfellow. who lived and died in Schoharie county. William T. was reared on the farm and educated in the
common schools. He was one of a family of eight sons and eight daughters, and began when twenty years old working
by the month and saved $1,000 and bought the farm he now owns of fifty acres, and has made his own way in life.
In politics he was first a Whig and is now a Republican since the organization of the party. In 1844 he married
Hannah M. Retchmyer, and they had one son, James, who lives at home.
