Spear, Mrs. Annie Augusta, a resident of the village of De Ruyter, and widow of the late Lyman F. Spear, and was born in Cayuga, N. Y., October 4, 1848. Her grandfather, David Reynolds, was a native of Rhode Island, who with his wife, Susan (Bentley) Reynolds, came to New York State at an early date. Mrs. Spear is a daughter of the Rev. Schuyler and Amanda A. (Johnston) Reynolds. When she was a child of thirteen she went to live with the family of Joseph Stafford, and on November 24, 1865, at the age of twenty, married Leroy P., a son of Joseph and Polly A. (Jones) Stafford. He was for many years a dealer in horses, grain, produce, etc., and died May 21, 1891. On November 19, 1892, she married Lyman F. O. U. W., and the fire department. His death occurred in August, 1897.
